Our Impact
Where Empathy Meets Action, Equity Thrives
A Vision Born from Experience

Our founder’s deep community ties, lived experience, and institutional knowledge power our partnerships, impact, and outcome. We believe lasting change begins with listening, compassion, and the courage to build a culture of empathy. At Empathy 4 Equity, we don't offer one-size-fits-all solutions; we co-create processes and build shared ownership of change. Whether advising organizational leaders or convening community dialogues, we meet people where they are and walk with them!

Cross-Sector Impact —

Policy & Governance

As the first Somali American woman elected to the Madison Common Council, Nasra brought empathy, courage, and lived experience to city policy decisions that centered around marginalized voices. Nasra led efforts to amplify marginalized voices in public decision-making and advanced inclusive community engagement initiatives in the City of Madison. She championed racial equity assessments in city projects, equitable community funding, and culturally informed civic engagement.

Education & Youth Empowerment

Nasra Wehelie has spent over a decade empowering students and educators through equity-focused leadership. She served on the MMSD Superintendent Human Relations Committee for more than 9 years, advising on policies to create inclusive, culturally responsive environments. She also brings over 9 years of service on the Boys & Girls Club of Dane County Board, where her leadership has helped uplift youth through a lens of equity, education, and opportunity.
